Look after my boy Rocco,Uncle Martin. I think you'll like him, he's a cheeky chappy, just like you. He's been the 1 thing that's got me through losing you and a whole bunch of other stuff. He wasn't just a dog, he was family. I'll see you soon. Love you xx

We first met while I was an apprentice, 15 years or so ago. So many good memories come to mind.
That first job was such a laugh. You used to sneak up under the scaffold and grab Jon’s leg and shout as loud as you could! He used to jump a mile haha.
I can remember the side of the house we were building blowing in and you and Gaz came across to help. The site manager walked passed while we were all trying to prise it back. We had to look like nothing had happened. We were all In hysterics afterwards.
During the recession we ended up on some grim sites. It was a bad time but you always had that joke and dry sense of humour that brightened the day up.
I can remember when they stuck you in that boiler room. The tallest bloke on the job in room with only 4.5ft head room!!! We joked every time we passed you.
A few more years went by and we always crossed paths down at the lane. As work improved we decided to team up.
Back to Barratts we went.
I learned so much from you in those years. All quirky little tricks we had. All the other gangs wanted to know how we did it. I have so many fond memories of you from that time of my life Martin.
The frighteningly good pop music trivia, pop master every day, the one liners, the quick wit, the flap jack and custard at break time, the pointless facts about nondescript celebrities.
At work I often use your sayings and it makes me think of you.
Thanks for all the good times my Friend.
You always put ‘big’ in front of everyone’s name despite usually being the biggest on site.
So here’s to you Big Martin.
Sleep tight and God Bless. X
You will never be forgotten X
